David De Gea makes promise to Man United fans

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea insists that he still has plenty of room for improvement

David De Gea has vowed that he will keep working hard to improve following his impressive form for Manchester United this season.

The Spanish shot-stopper has been one of the Premier League’s standout goalkeepers this term during Louis van Gaal’s first campaign in charge at Old Trafford.

De Gea was named as the goalkeeper in the PFA team of the year following his sparkling displays for the Red Devils.

The 24-year-old, who has made 35 appearances in the top flight for the Red Devils this term, has declared himself “satisfied” with his performances this season.

However, the Spaniard says that there is still plenty of room for improvement.

De Gea told Inside United: “Yes, I have [improved]. I’m very young and I always try to keep getting better, in every training session, every match, and I think it’s been a very productive season for me.

“I’m still growing as a player. I’m very satisfied with the season that I and we have had.”

De Gea’s fine form has led to speculation linking the Spaniard with a big-money transfer to Real Madrid this summer.

However, recent reports in the British media have claimed that the goalkeeper is set to commit his future to the Red Devils by signing a new contract in the coming weeks.
