Former Liverpool star reacts to Man United’s Memphis Depay deal
Former Liverpool midfielder David Thompson claims that he doesn't mind the Reds missed out on Memphis Depay
David Thompson claimed that he didn’t want Liverpool to sign Memphis Depay after Manchester United announced a deal to sign the PSV Eindhoven star on Thursday morning.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was reported to have held a meeting with the Netherlands international in a bid to beat their bitter rivals’ to his signature.
However, Depay, who played under United manager Louis van Gaal in the national set-up and at last summer’s World Cup, is set to undergo a medical at the 20-time English champions.
And former Reds midfielder Thompson took to Twitter with his tongue firmly in cheek to give his thoughts on Liverpool’s failure to sign the £25m-rated Dutchman.
That Depay was shite anyway didn't even want him😬

Depay scored 22 goals in 28 Eredivise appearances last season as the Dutch forward helped fire PSV to the Dutch top-flight crown last month.
The United signing played under current United boss Louis van Gaal at last summer’s World Cup in Brazil as the Dutch finished in third place in the tournament.
