Gabriel Paulista backs Arsenal to challenge for title next season

Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista is confident Gunners can launch Premier League title challenge next season

Gabriel Paulista is confident that Arsenal can challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The Gunners can cement second place in the table if Arsene Wenger’s side beat strugglers Hull City at KC Stadium on Monday night.

Arsenal are 13 points behind newly-crowned Premier League champions Chelsea after the Blues beat Crystal Palace to secure the title.

Paulista, who moved to the north London side from Villerreal in the January transfer window, believes Arsenal can realise their potential next year.

“The title – it’s not easy, but if we prepare hard enough, we’ve got everything that is needed to win it,” Gabriel told Sky Sports News.

“We’re taking into account that Arsenal has had a bad patch and has worked through it.”

Gabriel has helped Arsenal beat Newcastle United, Queens Park Rangers, Everton, Crystal Palace and Liverpool during his five Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side so far.

The uncapped Brazilian also played in their 2-1 extra-time victory over Reading in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
