Louis van Gaal has claimed that Arsenal are the best team in the Premier League but lack the experience of the Chelsea squad.

The Gunners head to Old Trafford to take on the Dutchman’s Manchester United side on Sunday afternoon as the north Londoners look to return to winning ways in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger’s men were in fine form before their surprise 1-0 loss to Swansea City on Monday night and head to United in third place in the Premier League table.

Arsenal are currently two points ahead of fourth-placed United and are on course to secure qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Van Gaal believes that the Gunners have the most talented squad in the top flight but that Chelsea are more experienced when it comes to winning silverward.

Van Gaal told a news conference on Friday: “I think that (a winning mentality) is the quality of the champion.

“Of course, we have improved a lot but we still have to learn the way Chelsea can play and finish off games because that is the difference.

“I believe that Arsenal have a better team than Chelsea but they cannot finish like Chelsea. That comes from talent and experience from having people like John Terry and Gary Cahill.”

United need one more win from their remaining two games to secure a top-four finish.
