Man United transfers: Andy Cole thrilled with Memphis Depay deal

Manchester United legend Andy Coe takes to Twitter after the Red Devils confirm deal to sign Memphis Depay

Andy Cole couldn’t resisting expressing his delight on Twitter after Manchester United confirmed an agreement with PSV Eindhoven over the sale of Memphis Depay.

The Red Devils are reported to have agreed a £25m transfer free with the Eredivisie champions after beating Arsenal and Liverpool to the highly-rated winger’s signature.

Depay is expected to undergo a medical at the club’s Carrington training ground ahead of the completion of his switch to the 20-time English champions.

Former United striker Cole was quick to take to his Twitter page to retweet the Red Devils’ confirmation of the agreement, posting an appropriate emoticon to summarise his feelings on the deal.

Depay was also being tracked by Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, with Liverpool and the French club thought to be leading the race to sign the Dutch star last month.

The 21-year-old scored 22 goals in 28 Eredivise appearances last season as the Dutch forward helped fire PSV to the Dutch top-flight crown last month.
