David De Gea has still not decided whether he wants to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid this summer, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

The speculation surrounding the Spaniard’s future at Old Trafford gathered pace on Sunday after United boss Louis van Gaal admitted that the goalkeeper could be set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old was reported to be on the verge of quitting United to join the Spanish giants and Van Gaal did little to quell that speculation after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.

However, although Balague says that De Gea is very much on Real Madrid’s radar, the La Liga expert says that a deal has not yet been agreed between the two clubs.

Ballague told Sky Sports: He is a target.

“There have been agents of goalkeepers – the top goalkeepers in the world in some cases – who have gone to Real Madrid and said ‘how about our guy?’ and the answer from Real Madrid is ‘we want de Gea’.

“He has not committed himself as has been published in the Spanish media. He hasn’t signed anything with Real Madrid but he has got a decision to make.

“What is interesting is that in the past the presence of Casillas would have been an issue but I’ve got the impression that he has changed his mind on that and he actually doesn’t mind.

“He will accept the challenge if he goes to Real Madrid and if Casillas is there.”

De Gea has started all of United’s Premier League games this season but was substituted in the second half of the draw with Arsenal.
