Matteo Darmian has refused to be drawn on the speculation surrounding his future as the Torino full-back continues to be linked with a transfer to the Premier League.

Manchester United and Arsenal are thought to both be keeping tabs on the 25-year-old Italy international, who has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising full-backs in recent seasons.

However, the defender refused to discuss his situation when quizzed about his future beyond the summer.

Darmian told Tuttosport: “Let see what happens in the summer.

“At the end of the season we will sit around a table and we’ll see [what to do].”

Darmian has already earned 12 caps for Italy and clocked up 45 appearances for Torino in all competitions this season to help them up to ninth in Serie A.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is thought to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements as he looks to transform his Red Devils side into genuine Premier League title contenders next season.

United have already snapped up winger Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven as they began their transfer activity early.
