Jack Wilshere may have missed out on the evening’s top prizes, but the Arsenal star was a contender for best dressed at the BT Sports Industry Awards on Thursday.

The 23-year-old dressed up in a Lanvin suit and white bow tie for the event in Battersea, joining his fellow England international Nathaniel Clyne and Ryan Bertrand.

Wilshere, who is still on the road to recovery from an ankle operation, gave his Instagram followers an insight into the background planning that went into the night.

The Gunners star uploaded the above photo from the changing room as he looked to find the perfect suit.

Wilshere wrote: “Getting ready for The Sport Industry Awards, thanks to the guys at @lanvinofficial #btsia @sportindustry”

The Gunners star eventually settled on a dashing black suit with white bow tie.

Wilshere added: “We’re on our way, see you soon! #WhiteBowTie #btsia @sportindustry @lanvinofficial”
