Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil uploads snap of Champions League trophy competition
Mesut Ozil may have missed out on the chance to win the Champions League this season, but the Arsenal midfielder is still hoping to get the trophy in his house.
The Germany international was part of the Arsenal side that won 2-0 against Monaco but crashed out of the competition after failing to overturn a 3-1 first-leg deficit against the Ligue 1 side.
The 26-year-old is still waiting to taste his first European success despite playing for 10-time champions Real Madrid before his £42.5m move to Arsenal in 2013.
And the Gunners playmaker urged German supporters to avail of the opportunity to host the Champions League trophy in their homes ahead of the Berlin final.
Ozil wrote: “To all the people living in Berlin: would you like to have the Champions League trophy at home? ;-) Then apply for the UEFA Champions League Home Tour 2015 presented by adidas #uclberlin @adidas_de”
Germany international Ozil has scored four goals and has made five assists in 18 Premier League appearances this season.
The former Real Madrid midfielder missed three months of the campaign after he injured his knee in a 2-0 defeat by Chelsea last October.
