Ander Herrera promised that Manchester United would come back stronger next season after helping the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.

The Spanish midfielder scored United’s opener in the 30th minute at Old Trafford before Theo Walcott snatched a point for Arsene Wenger’s men when his shot deflected in off Tyler Blackett in the second half.

The result dented United’s hopes of securing a top-three finish in the Premier League.

However, with Louis van Gaal’s men assured of a top-four finish after Liverpool’s loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday, Herrera is hoping to enjoy a successful second season at the club.

The midfielder shared the photo above on his Instagram account and wrote: “It wasn’t the farewell to Old Trafford that you deserved, but we will come back stronger next season. Thanks!”

Herrera has scored six goals and made four assists in the Premier League in his first season at Old Trafford.

United take on Hull City in their final Premier League game of the season next weekend.
