Jack Wilshere took to social media on Friday night to urge his fans to follow former Arsenal striker Benik Afobe on Instagram.

The pair came through the Arsenal youth system together before Afobe joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a permanent deal back in January.

Wilshere shared the picture of the duo on his own account and wrote: “Give my boy @benikafobeofficial a warm welcome #Player”

Wilshere will be hoping to feature when Arsenal travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The England midfielder has endured a season plagued by injury after requiring ankle surgery back in December.

Wilshere has been limited to just 11 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger’s men this term and made his first top-flight appearance since November during the 3-1 win at Hull earlier this month.

Arsenal head to Old Trafford looking to return to winning ways after their surprise 1-0 defeat by Swansea City at Emirates Stadium on Monday night.

The north London side are currently third in the table heading into their final three Premier League games of the season.
