Mamadou Sakho brought some humour to an otherwise emotional day at Anfield after the Liverpool defender uploaded a funny photo with Kolo Toure ahead of 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The France international didn’t feature against the Eagles as Liverpool suffered a disappointing defeat on Steven Gerrard’s final appearance in front of his fans at Anfield.

Sakho, who uploaded a series of photos pitchside before and after the game, posted a snap with Ivory Coast international Kolo Toure on the coach to Anfield before the loss.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star returned from an absence to help Liverpool go on a 13-game unbeaten run in the Premier League before a 2-1 defeat by Manchester United in March.

The France international, who moved to Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain in 2013, picked up a hamstring injury against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup.

Sakho has made 26 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this term despite a number of injury problems throughout the campaign.
