Philippe Coutinho was all smiles despite Liverpool’s 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday.

The Brazilian playmaker posed for a picture with his wife Aine on the Anfield turf after playing the full 90 minutes of what was captain Steven Gerrard’s final appearance at Liverpool’s home ground.

Coutinho looked in good spirits as he snapped a picture with his other half and his Liverpool player of the year award and posted a message to Reds fans on Instagram.

He uploaded the photo above and wrote: “Thank you to all the fans. Thank you for your support always.”

Coutinho has been in fine form for Liverpool this season, scoring five goals and making five assists in 34 Premier League games for Brendan Rodgers’ men.

He also featured five times in the Champions League as the Reds were eliminated at the group stage.

Liverpool are currently fifth in the Premier League table heading into their final game of the season and are on track to qualify for next season’s Europa League.
