Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was snapped deep in conversation with Reds forward Raheem Sterling
Brendan Rodgers and Raheem Sterling were photographed deep in conversation during a Liverpool training session ahead of their trio to Chelsea on Sunday evening.
The England international is yet to agree a new deal with the 18-time English champions amid reported interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Sterling is reported to have turned down a £100,000-a-week contract from Liverpool, fuelling talk of a potential move away in the summer transfer window.
The Reds manager chatted at length with the 20-year-old forward during the club’s training session at Melwood on Friday afternoon.
Steven Gerrard, meanwhile, was practicing his shooting during the training workout as the Liverpool midfielder gears up for the Chelsea clash.
The 34-year-old is set to join Major League Soccer outfit LA Galaxy at the end of the season, meaning Gerrard has just three opportunities to add to his Liverpool appearances.
Earlier on Friday, Liverpool manager Rodgers confirmed that Daniel Sturridge is set to be sidelined until September following an operation on his hip.
