Arsenal transfers: Jackson Martinez talks up Gunners switch

Jackson Martinez describes Arsenal as a "great" club as he continues to be linked with a transfer to the Gunners

Jackson Martinez has once again fuelled the speculation linking him with a summer transfer to Arsenal by describing the Gunners as “great” club.

The north London side have long been linked with a move for the Porto forward and reportedly came close to signing him last summer.

The 28-year-old has attracted interest from a number of top clubs in recent weeks, including the likes of AC Milan, Arsenal, Valencia, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Now, the player’s latest comments surrounding his future have done little to quell the speculation linking him with a move to Emirates Stadium in the coming weeks.

Martinez is quoted as saying by A Bola: “Arsenal are a great team, one of the world’s best teams, and I’m waiting to find out what my future holds.

“I still don’t know, but the day when I find out is getting closer.

“For now, I’m focused on the Copa America.”

Arsenal have been linked with a £24.7m deal for the forward in recent days.

The 28-year-old Martinez has scored 21 goals in the league for Porto this season. He also proved his Champions League pedigree this term by netting seven goals in Europe’s elite club competition.
