Former Arsenal defender hints at Petr Cech deal

Has Lauren inadvertently confirmed that Arsenal are to sign Petr Cech?

Lauren has fuelled the speculation linking Arsenal with a transfer move for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech by congratulating the shot-stopper on Twitter ahead of the proposed switch.

Cech has been heavily linked with a transfer across London after finding his first-team opportunities at Chelsea limited last season following Thibaut Courtois’ return from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid.

Now, former Arsenal defender Lauren appears to have confirmed that Cech is indeed heading to Arsenal with a tweet posted on Saturday afternoon.

Cech was limited to just six Premier League starts for Chelsea last season following Courtois’ return from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid last summer.

Manchester United have also been touted as a possible destination for the goalkeeper as David De Gea’s future at the club continues to be a source of speculation.

Lauren was a regular in the Arsenal defence between 2000 and 2006 and was part of the side who won the league unbeaten in 2003-04.
