Liverpool target Carlos Bacca says that he has agreed a deal to join AC Milan from Sevilla
Liverpool have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Carlos Bacca after the Sevilla striker confirmed that he has agreed a deal to join AC Milan.
The Colombia international had emerged as a top target for the Merseyside outfit in recent weeks after the 28-year-old’s impressive campaign at Anfield.
Bacca enhanced his already blossoming reputation with two goals in Sevilla’s 3-2 victory over Dnipro in the Europa League final in May.
But the South American has opted to move to seven-time European champions AC Milan ahead of a switch to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
“It needs to be confirmed, but it is true – we’ve reached an agreement with Milan,” Bacca is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“My representative tells me they are the club with 100 per cent of the possibility [of signing me].”
Bacca’s agent also confirmed that the Sevilla man that the striker had reached an agreement with the Milan outfit.
“I can confirm that Milan and the player have reached an agreement,” said Sergio Barila.
“Carlos has chosen the best for his future, it is normal to be happy.”
The 28-year-old scored an impressive 20 goals in 36 La Liga appearances last season as well as netting a further eight times in domestic and European cup competitions.
Bacca has scored 34 times in just 71 La Liga appearances following his move to Sevilla from Club Brugge in 2013.
