Man United transfers: Angel di Maria discusses his future
Angel di Maria insists that he has no intention of quitting Manchester United this summer
Angel di Maria has insisted that he has no intention of quitting Manchester United this summer despite the speculation surrounding his future.
The Argentina international has been linked with a surprise move away from Old Trafford just a year after he joined the Red Devils from Real Madrid last summer.
Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs reported to be keen on luring the winger away from United following his relatively disappointing first season in the Premier League.
However, the player himself has now moved to play down talk of him leaving Old Trafford this summer by insisting that he is prepared to stay and fight for his place in Louis van Gaal’s side, despite admitting that he found it difficult to explain why he found himself out of favour towards the end of the campaign.
Di Maria told Ole: No [I will not leave United], because I’m not thinking like that. In Madrid there were times when I was whistled around the stadium but faced it and then it turned around. I like to deal with things.”
But when asked if he felt uncomfortable in Manchester, he replied: “Yes. For me, and my family. Because not everything goes as I want, because I don’t play.
“Because I came with an intention and end up on the bench. It’s hard to tell how I feel there. I started well, with goals and assists. I was having a good time, until I was out. It’s a little hard to explain why I do not play.”
Di Maria only managed to score three goals and 11 assists in the Premier League following his club-record £59.7m transfer to Old Trafford from Real Madrid.
