Man United transfers: Carlos Bacca won’t leave, says Sevilla manager
Sevilla manager Urai Emery rules out Liverpool and Manchester United target Carlos Bacca leaving the La Liga club this summer
Carlos Bacca won’t leave Sevilla this summer despite interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, according to Unai Emery.
The Colombia striker is one of the most-coveted strikers in Europe after he enhanced his reputation with two goals in Sevilla’s 3-2 victory over Dnipro in the Europa League final in May.
The 28-year-old scored an impressive 20 goals in 36 La Liga appearances last season as well as netting a further eight times in domestic and European cup competitions.
But Sevilla manager Emery has ruled out the South American leaving the Europa League winners in the transfer window in the wake of interest from the Premier League and AS Roma.
“This year we had to sell one player in order to balance our books and we sold Aleix Vidal, something which none of us wanted to do,” Emery is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
“Now what we want is for no one else to leave. It’s the right policy considering the season that awaits us.
“I am counting on everyone.”
Bacca has scored 34 times in just 71 La Liga appearances following his move to Sevilla from Club Brugge in 2013.
His Colombia team-mate Radamel Falcao endured a miserable season-long loan at Old Trafford after he scored just four times in 26 Premier League games.
