Man United transfers: Edinson Cavani won’t return to Serie A, says agent

No Serie A clubs can afford Man United target Edinson Cavani, according to the PSG striker's agent

Edinson Cavani won’t be returning to Serie A this summer amid speculation linking the striker with a move to Manchester United, says his agent.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been linked with a move to AC Milan after a mixed campaign at the Ligue 1 champions.

Cavani still scored a respectable 18 goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances for Laurent Blanc’s side last season.

But the PSG man’s agent Claudio Anellucci claimed that the Serie A clubs can’t afford to sign the Uruguay international.

“I can’t see any clubs in Italy who could pay the necessary figures for a player of the calibre of Cavani,” Anellucci told Calciomercato.

“Besides, Edinson was very clear about his future, he’s happy in Paris and intends to stay at PSG. There’s nothing more to add.”

Cavani has been previously linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool over the past 12 months.

Only Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored more goals than United target Cavani for the Parisian-based outfit.

However, the 28-year-old striker is reportedly unhappy to be behind the towering Swede in the pecking order at Parc des Princes.

Cavani has scored 34 goals in 65 Premier League appearances since his move to PSG from Napoli.
