Man United transfers: Harry Kane responds to Old Trafford link
Harry Kane says that he has no intention of quitting Tottenham Hotspur this summer
Harry Kane admits that he has been “flattered” by the speculation linking him with a big-money transfer to Manchester United – but insists that he is planning to stay at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Red Devils have been rumoured to be pondering a bid for the Spurs star as Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his attacking options at Old Trafford ahead of his second season in charge.
Kane was one of the Premier League’s standout performers last season and scored 30 goals in all competitions on his way to winning the PFA young player of the year award.
United are thought to be considering a £40m move for the striker, but the 21-year-old insists that he has no intention of leaving White Hart Lane this summer.
“I am happy at Spurs and I look forward to the future with Spurs,” Kane told BBC Sport.
“I have seen there is interest but that’s all I know. It is flattering for other clubs to maybe be interested.”
Kane’s current contract at Tottenham is set to expire in 2020.
The England international enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino as he established himself as one of the Premier League’s top strikers.
Kane scored 30 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions for the League Cup runners-up this season after the striker forced his way into Pochettino’s first-team at White Hart Lane.
