Man United transfers: Nicolas Otamendi hints at summer move
Manchester United target Nicolas Otamendi hints that he has made up his mind to leave Valencia this summer
Nicolas Otamendi has fuelled the speculation linking him with a summer transfer to Manchester United by hinting that he has informed Valencia of his desire to leave the Spanish club.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a big money swoop for the defender as Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his rearguard options ahead of his second season in charge at Old Trafford.
Now, Otamendi’s latest comments have done little to quell the speculation surrounding his future as Manchester United continue to be touted as a possible destination for the centre-half.
Otamendi is quoted as saying by Goal: “I spoke at the time with who I had to talk to and Valencia know very well what I want. Every word that my representative says is with my authorisation.
“I had a chat with the president and he knows what my desire is and now I leave what has to happen in the hands of my agent.”
The defender, who is currently on international duty with Argentina at the Copa America, scored six goals in 35 La Liga appearances for Valencia last season.
He was pictured hanging out with United star Angel di Maria earlier this week as Argentina continue their Copa America campaign
United wrapped up a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League in Van Gaal’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
