Ander Herrera takes to social media to reflect on the one-year anniversary of him signing for Manchester United
Ander Herrera took to social media on Friday morning to reflect on his transfer to Manchester United, a year to the day he joined the Red Devils.
The Spanish midfielder signed for the Red Devils on 24 June 2014 as Louis van Gaal strengthened his United squad ahead of his first season in charge at Old Trafford.
Herrera put pen to paper on a four-year deal with United after activating a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave Athletic Bilbao and join the Red Devils to become the first signing of Van Gaal’s tenure at the club.
The 25-year-old posted the series of pictures above on his Instagram account on Friday and wrote: “On this day 1 year ago I arrived @ManUtd – 12 intense & very happy months. The best is still to come!”
The midfielder went on to play a key role in helping the Red Devils secure a top-four finish in the Premier League and a route back into the Champions League.
He scored six goals and made four assists in 26 top-flight games for United and particularly clicked into gear in the second half of the campaign.
