Filipe Luis thanks his fans after reaching a million followers on Instagram this weekend

Filipe Luis took to social media on Saturday to pay tribute to his fans after the Chelsea defender surpassed one million followers on Instagram.

The Brazilian’s future at Stamford Bridge has been a source of speculation in recent weeks following a disappointing debut campaign at the west London club for the defender.

Luis was limited to just nine Premier League starts for Jose Mourinho’s men following his transfer to Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last July.

However, the 29-year-old has still proven incredibly popular on social media in recent months, and the player uploaded the photo above onto his Instagram account and wrote: “I love you all. Thank youuuu!!!”

Mourinho is believed to be lining up a replacement for Luis following the defenders unimpressive first season in the Premier League. Luis made 20 starts in all competitions for the west London club but Mourinho is believed to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements during the summer transfer window.
