Theo Walcott took to social media to reveal his excitement at seeing Petr Cech join Arsenal from Chelsea on Monday afternoon.

The Czech Republic international signed a long-term deal with the Gunners on Monday after joining the north London club for an undisclosed fee.

The confirmation of the signing comes after days of speculation linking the Gunners with a swoop for the shot-stopper after he fell behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge last season.

And Arsenal forward Walcott could not contain his delight at seeing Cech put pen to paper on a deal with the Gunners on Monday afternoon.

Walcott shared the picture above of himself scoring against Cech on his Instagram account and wrote: “Scored my first ever arsenal goal against him – delighted to welcome @petrcech to @arsenal !!! #WelcomeCech”
