Santi Cazorla discusses Arsenal exit speculation
Santi Cazorla says that he plans to see out the remaining two years left on his Arsenal contract
Santi Cazorla has rejected the speculation linking him with a transfer away from Arsenal this summer, insisting that he is planning to stay at the north London club beyond the summer.
The Spanish playmaker was one of Arsenal’s standout performers last season as he helped Arsene Wenger’s men finish third in the Premier League and retain their FA Cup title.
Cazorla has been linked with a possible return to Spain in recent months, with Atletico Madrid reported to be interested in signing the midfielder.
However, Cazorla has now moved to end the speculation surrounding his future by insisting that he is planning to stay at Emirates Stadium beyond the summer.
Cazorla told Goal: “Rumours about Atletico Madrid are false. Currently, I just focus on Arsenal. I have two more years on my contract here and I hope to complete them.
“I’m very happy in Arsenal and in the Premier League. I feel loved and valued by the team and supporters.”
Cazorla, who joined the north London side from Malaga in 2012, scored seven goals and made 11 assists in 37 Premier League games for Arsenal last season.
The Gunners kick off their 2015-16 Premier League campaign with a home clash against West Ham United at Emirates Stadium.
