Tottenham star: Downing Arsenal was my highlight of season
Harry Kane picks his match-winning display against Arsenal as his highlight of the season
Harry Kane has picked his match-winning performance against Arsenal as his highlight of the season with Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane scored both goals for the north London club as they came from behind to beat their local rivals 2-1 at White Hart Lane back in February.
And the PFA young player of the year has chosen that game as his highlight of the 2014-15 season, as he enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for the Lilywhites under Mauricio Pochettino.
Kane is quoted as saying by Inside Futbol: “For me personally it was a belter, with both goals and obviously to win the game was definitely the highlight of the season.
“It was my first north London derby and it couldn’t have probably got any better.
“I thought we played incredibly as a team. We were unlucky to be one-nil down at half-time, but we knew that we’ve got a great chance.”
Kane was one of the top flight’s standout performers last season and scored 30 goals in all competitions on his way to winning the PFA young player of the year award.
His fine form has seen him linked with a potential summer transfer away from White Hart Lane in recent weeks.
Manchester United are reported to be keen on signing the forward, whose contract at Spurs expires in 2020.
However, Kane recently underlined his desire to stay at Tottenham and continue his development at the north London club.
