Watch Liverpool star draw inspiration from LeBron James and Warriors
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge uploads a video from game five, which saw Golden State Warriors seal NBA crown
Daniel Sturridge was drawing inspiration from some NBA heroes on Wednesday night as the Liverpool striker caught game five of the NBA finals.
Clevland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James has a small share in the 18-time English champions due to his association with the club’s owners Fenway Sports Group.
So Sturridge was presumably cheering on the Clevland talisman in game five in San Francisco, although the Warriors ended their 40-year NBA title drought thanks to a 105-93 win.
And the Liverpool striker uploaded the above video to his Instagram page as he paid tribute to the new NBA champions and defeated LeBron on the photo-sharing app.
Sturridge wrote: “Atmosphere was electric. Back to work today boy. Attacking that gym again
Lebron still great but the better team won.”
The Liverpool man uploaded a further video after the Warriors were crowned champions.
He posted: “That’s what winning a basketball championship looks like.”
Sturridge has endured a tough 10 months after a string of injuries kept the Liverpool striker sidelined for the most of the season.
The England international scored just four goals in 12 Premier League appearances for the Merseyside outfit last season.
