Watch Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez step up his training despite being on holiday

Alexis Sanchez is not letting his holiday get in the way of his fitness work ahead of the new season with Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez may be currently enjoying an extended summer holiday – but that is not stopping the Arsenal star from maintaining his fitness levels this week.

The Chile international has been granted a break until 3 August after helping Chile secure Copa America glory earlier this month.

Sanchez endured a gruelling debut campaign in England after joining Arsenal from Barcelona last summer, helping Arsene Wenger’s men finish third and retain their FA Cup crown before his involvement in the Copa America.

And the 26-year-old posted two videos of himself training on a beach in his native Chile as he looks forward to joining up with his team-mates ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.

Sanchez shared the slow-motion videos above and below on his Instagram account and wrote: “Entrenando ⚽️ training …”

The Chile international, who joined Arsenal from Barcelona last summer, is set to miss the Gunners’ Premier League opener against West Ham United on 9 August after being given an extended summer break.

Arsenal are in action against Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday.
