Arsenal transfers: Arsene Wenger leaves door open for signings
Arsene Wenger says that he is still open to bringing in more signings to Arsenal this summer
Arsene Wenger insists that he is open to bringing in more players to Arsenal this summer following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea.
The Gunners have inevitably been linked with a host of players as Wenger looks to transform his side into genuine Premier League title contenders next season.
The north London club wrapped up a deal to sign Cech from Chelsea earlier this month as Wenger added some experience to his Gunners squad.
Arsenal are understood to be on the lookout for fresh recruits ahead of the new Premier League season.
And Wenger insists that he is still open to making new signings in the coming weeks.
Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, Wenger said: “I don’t close the door. If we can find any player who can strengthen the squad then we will. We have strengthened the squad already and I believe part of the success of the team is down to the level of cohesion.
“We have a good level of cohesion and at the moment what is very important to our squad and myself is to see how we can move forward again.
“We feel that we moved forward last season but it’s not enough to think that’s okay, we have to move forward again. It’s much more important about the team now rather than finding the right player.
“I believe we have the quality and it’s now how much we can be stronger together.”
Arsenal, who kick off their Premier League campaign against West Ham United on the opening weekend of the season, have been linked with the likes of Arturo Vidal and Gonzalo Higuain in recent days.
