Arsenal transfers: Arturo Vidal set for Bayern move, says German expert

Arsenal target Arturo Vidal looks set to join Bayern Munich, according to Bundesliga expert Jan Aage Fjortoft

Arsenal look set to be dealt a blow in the race to sign Arturo Vidal after Jan Aage Fjortoft claimed the midfielder is on the brink of a move to Bayern Munich.

The Chile international is expected to seal a return to the Bundesliga amid reports the German champions have agreed a £28m fee to bring the tenacious midfielder from Juventus.

Arsenal had been linked with a move for the 28-year-old midfielder regularly over the past 12 months, particularly after signing his compatriot Alexis Sanchez.

However, former Nottingham Forest midfielder Fjortoft tweeted that Champions League runner-up Vidal should become a Bayern player.

Vidal was in fine form for Juventus last season, scoring seven goals and making four assists in 28 Serie A games for the Italian side and helping them to reach the Champions League final.

The South American has won four Serie A titles and the Coppa Italia during a four-year stay at Juventus.
