Arsenal transfers: Juventus deliver Arturo Vidal update

Juventus have not received any official offers for Arturo Vidal this summer, says club's chief executive

Juventus are yet to receive a formal offer for Arturo Vidal amid the speculation linking Arsenal with a swoop for the Chile midfielder, the Italian club’s chief executive has said.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a swoop for the Juventus midfielder in recent days as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his squad and guide his Arsenal side to a Premier League title challenge next season.

Reports earlier this week claimed that the north London club were in advanced talks to sign Vidal, who helped Juve secure a league and cup double last season.

However, the Italian club’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has denied that the Serie A side have received any official offers for either Vidal or Fernando Llorente.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marotta said: “We have not received any offer for Llorente or Vidal.

“There are no ongoing negotiations for Vidal, who has been the object of desire for half of Europe.”

Vidal, 28, was in fine form for Juventus last season, scoring seven goals and making four assists in 28 Serie A games for the Italian side and helping them to reach the Champions League final.
