Aaron Ramsey has admitted that he is “flattered” by the speculation linking him with a transfer to Barcelona and refused to rule out a move to Spain in the future.

The Spanish champions were reported to be keen on luring the Wales international to Camp Nou as part of a £50m deal to bolster their midfield options earlier this summer.

The midfielder insists that he has no plans to leave Arsenal in the near future but concedes that he enjoyed seeing himself touted as a possible target for the Spanish side.

Ramsey said in an interview with the Guardian: “Obviously it’s very flattering.

“They did the treble last year and it’s just really nice to be linked with one of the best clubs in the world.

“One day I would like to go over to Spain to play just to see what it’s like and to experience that.

“But at the moment I’m with Arsenal and I feel like this Arsenal team can go and be successful and challenge for things.”

The 24-year-old midfielder scored six goals and made six assists in 29 Premier League games for Arsene Wenger’s men last season as the Gunners finished third and won the FA Cup for the second year running.

Ramsey is expected to feature for Arsenal this weekend as the Gunners take on Lyon and Wolfsburg in the Emirates Cup.
