Oliver Bierhoff believes that Bastian Schweinsteiger will quickly adapt to life at Manchester United, ahead of the World Cup winner’s proposed move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils confirmed a deal to sign the midfielder on Saturday after weeks of speculation linking him with a transfer to the Old Trafford club.

The move is subject to the player passing a medical and agreeing personal terms with the Premier League club.

And Germany legend Bierhoff is sure that Schweinsteiger will be a big hit in the Premier League ahead of his permanent transfer to Louis van Gaal’s side.

Bierhoff told Kicker: “I can understand that in his magnificent career Basti also wants to include a chapter in the English Premier League.

“Manchester United are a world class club like Bayern. The Englishmen can look forward to him.

“One such as Basti, who lives for his passion, will fit in there quickly.”

Schweinsteiger has one year remaining on his current Bayern contract and it is understood that he will command a transfer fee in the region of £12m.

The Germany midfielder has scored 67 goals in 500 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga champions.
