Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is understood to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements as he prepares his Blues squad for their Premier League title defence next season.
The 22-year-old defender has been touted as a target for Chelsea in recent days, while Wolfsburg are also reported to be keen on signing the centre-half this summer.
Now, the player’s agent Sahr Senesie has said that Chelsea would be an “interesting” option for his client as he continues to be linked with a transfer away from current employers Stuttgart.
“Antonio finds Wolfsburg very interesting, but that also applies to Chelsea,” Senesie told Stuttgarter Nachrichten. “Nothing has been signed.”
Stuttgart are believed to value Rudiger at around £12.7m.
Rudiger made 19 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart last season, notching up one assist for his team-mates.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Mourinho lifted the lid on the west London club’s decision to sell Petr Cech to Arsenal last week.
