Petr Cech Didn’t have a huge amount to do but looked confident from the off on his Emirates Stadium debut. Collected the ball well on a number of occasions and sparked a handful of attacks with some excellent distribution. Each of his saves were greeted by cheers from the Emirates faithful. 7/10

Hector Bellerin Got forward a few times in the first half but couldn’t deliver with his final ball. Typically energetic. 6

Calum Chambers Started alongside Gabriel in central defence and didn’t look out of place. 6

Gabriel Looked comfortable alongside his inexperienced defensive partner. Will be hoping to compete with Mertesacker for a starting spot this season. 6

Nacho Monreal Decent display at left-back from the Spaniard, who will be battling with Gibbs for the starting spot this season. 6

Mikel Arteta Deployed in the holding role and generally an uneventful afternoon for the captain. Replaced by Ramsey midway through the second half. 5

Santi Cazorla A few neat flicks and tricks but generally a quiet game from the Spanish playmaker. Saw his low free-kick saved in the second half. 6

Jeff Reine-Adelaide A confident display from the 17-year-old. Made some good runs forward and found Walcott with a neat pass for Arsenal’s opener. Overall, a very solid showing indeed from the teenager. 8

Mesut Ozil Was involved in most of Arsenal’s good play in a very quiet first half. Saw his shot drift past the right post just before half-time. Replaced at half-time by Akpom after featuring on both days of Emirates Cup 2015. 6

Jack Wilshere Started out wide on the right after being rested on Saturday. Powered forward in his trademark style a few times, but spent much of the first half getting up from the ground after being constantly fouled by a battling Wolfsburg. 6

Theo Walcott Deployed up front in his favoured central position. Missed two good chances in the first half and had the ball in the net with a neat chipped finish but was adjudged to be offside. Netted Arsenal’s opener just after half-time, slotting home in style with the outside of his boot from Reine-Adelaide’s pass. Came off for Giroud to rapturous applause. 7

Chuba Akpom Had a decent low shot saved by Wolfsburg shot-stopper Benaglio. N/A

Aaron Ramsey Helped to inspire a few second-half attacks. N/A

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Instantly injected some spark on the right wing. Looks determined to prove himself this season. N/A

Olivier Giroud N/A

Isaac Hayden N/A
