Damian Martinez Good save to stop N’Jie’s close-range shot and Lacazette’s solid effort in the first half. Other than that, a very quiet afternoon for him indeed. 7/10

Mathieu Debuchy Got forward a few times and didn’t really have much else to do on a relaxed afternoon in the Arsenal defence. 6

Per Mertesacker Didn’t have much to deal with, but what he did, he did well. 6

Laurent Koscielny Cool, calm and collected, as we have come to expect from the France international. 6

Kieran Gibbs Spent much of the game in the opposition’s half as had little to do at the back. 6

Francis Coquelin Picked up where he left off last season, patrolling the area in front of Arsenal’s back four in confident fashion. 6

Aaron Ramsey Netted Arsenal’s fourth in a frenetic first half, nipping in to tap home Ozil’s pass. Decent display. 7

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Energetic from the off as he bids to force his way into the starting line-up for next season. Confidently slotted home after a lightning-quick counter-attack. Latched onto Giroud’s through-ball and slotted home. Was behind many of Arsenal’s attacks. Top performance. 9

Mesut Ozil Good delivery for Giroud’s opener and set up Ramsey for Arsenal’s fourth. Added his own name to the scoresheet with a low left-footed finish into the bottom corner. 7

Alex Iwobi Fired home into the top corner after being found by Ramsey. Had a goal ruled out for offside moments later. Linked up well with his team-mates but was perhaps guilty of not taking things on himself early on – understandable given his lack of first-team experience. 7

Olivier Giroud Gave his side the lead in the first half from Ozil’s free-kick in front of 59,801 fans at The Emirates. What looked like a great header turned out to have come off his shoulder. Turned provider when he slid in Oxlade-Chamberlain for Arsenal’s second. 7

Mikel Arteta N/A

Santi Cazorla Fired home a cunning left-footed free-kick under the Lyon wall to make it six and complete the rout. 6

Chuba Akpom Hit the post late on. N/A

Theo Walcott Was deployed up front after replacing Giroud for the final 20 minutes but the game had petered out by that stage. Missed a one-on-one chance late on. 5

Isaac Hayden N/A
