Gary Neville: Man United trying to sign one of Real Madrid’s star players

Gary Neville says Manchester United will be looking to sign a Real Madrid player if David De Gea heads to the Bernabeu this summer

Gary Neville believes that Manchester United would only let David De Gea join Real Madrid if they are able to bring one of the Spanish club’s stars to Old Trafford as part of the deal.

De Gea’s future continues to be a source of relentless speculation, with Madrid reported to be readying a big-money bid to tempt the shot-stopper back to Spain.

Suggestions that United could be set to lose De Gea gathered pace on Monday after the Red Devils completed the signing of goalkeeper Sergio Romero on a three-year contract.

And former United defender Neville says that it looks like the Red Devils are trying to negotiate a deal for one of Madrid’s top stars should De Gea leave Old Trafford.

Responding to a Twitter user’s comment on Monday morning, Neville said the following:

Manchester United kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
