Juan Mata vows to improve his goal-scoring form for Man United

Juan Mata is hoping to score more goals for Manchester United next season as he bids to help the Red Devils challenge for the Premier League title.
The Spaniard is gearing up for the 2015-16 campaign after netting nine goals and notching up four assists in Louis van Gaal’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
Mata says that goal-scoring is a part of his game that he is constantly working on to improve and is intent on reaching at least double figures for the Red Devils next season.
Mata is quotes as saying by Goal: “I always try to score. I’ve always done that. I used to play as a striker when I was a kid and every team I played for I had a good goals record and it’s the same at United.
“This season I will aim again to score a good number and to help the team with assists and goals.
“I had a 21-goal season at Chelsea and another with Valencia when I scored 14 so I’ve always been lucky enough to score a good number for a midfielder.
“I always try to score more than 10 goals in a season. I’ve nearly always done that and I think that’s a good number for a midfielder.
“Last season I tried to score as many as I could and it’s always a big part of my game. I will try again to be in and around the box and score again.”
The playmaker is currently gearing up for Thursday’s final pre-season friendly against Paris Saint-Germain as the Red Devils continue their preparations for the new season.
United, who finished fourth in Van Gaal’s first season in charge, kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening weekend of the season.
