Juventus give update on reported Arsenal target Arturo Vidal
Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta plays down talk of Arturo Vidal joining Real Madrid this summer, as Arsenal continue to be linked with the midfielder
Arsenal have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Arturo Vidal after Juventus chief executive rubbished the speculation linking the Chilean with a transfer to Real Madrid.
Vidal has been heavily linked with a move away from Juve in recent weeks and Arsenal are reported to be keen on luring the 28-year-old to Emirates Stadium as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of next season.
Spanish giants Real Madrid are also thought to be keen on bringing the midfielder to the Bernabeu this summer following Rafael Benitez’s appointment as manager.
However, Juve chief Giuseppe Marotta has poured cold water on the reports linking Vidal with a big-money move to Real Madrid.
Marotta told Spanish newspaper AS: “They are just rumours.
“We have a good relationship with Real Madrid, but his transfer is unrealistic.”
Vidal was in fine form for Juventus last season, scoring seven goals and making four assists in 28 Serie A games for the Italian side and helping them to reach the Champions League final.
