Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo discusses reports about his future amid speculation linking him with Liverpool
Alvaro Negredo insists he is happy at Valencia despite recent reports linking the striker with a surprise move to Liverpool.
The Spain international joined Valencia in a £20m deal from Manchester City on 1 July after having sptn the 2014/15 campaign at Los Che.
The La Liga side are reportedly keen to sell the 29-year-old striker despite his recent move in a bid to end their payment agreement with the Citizens.
However, Negredo, who scored five goals in 29 appearances for Valencia in La Liga this season, has moved to quash the recent transfer speculation.
“From the first day after last season ended, my mind has been focused on Valencia,” Negredo is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
“I want to work hard and continue developing. My plan is to stay.”
Negredo moved to City from Sevilla in a £15m deal in 2013.
However, the Spaniard was loaned to Valencia after he struggled to find consistent form for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The striker scored nine goals in 32 Premier League appearances as he helped City to win the top-flight crowed ahead of Liverpool.
