Liverpool transfers: Lucas Digne wants to leave PSG, says Laurent Blanc

PSG manager Laurent Blanc reveals Liverpool target Lucas Digne wants to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer

Liverpool have been handed a boost in the race to sign Lucas Digne after Laurent Blanc confirmed the midfielder wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

The Reds have only just completed their seventh signing of the summer after wrapping up a £32.5m deal to sign Christian Benteke on Wednesday night.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in 22-year-old Digne as Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his midfield options further ahead of the 2014/15 season.

The France international struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in Blanc’s first-team last term, making just 14 appearances in Ligue 1.

And the PSG manager confirmed that Digne is looking for a move away from the French capital.
“First, it is he who very clearly asked to leave,” Blanc is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.

“For now, he is with us, he is very professional, he trains very well and has prepared excellently. He has shown the results in friendlies.

“This is firstly a very good thing for him and possibly for us, should he stay with us this season.”

Digne hasn’t scored in the French top-flight for PSG since his move to the Ligue 1 champions from Lille in 2013.
