Liverpool transfers: Raheem Sterling has the worst agent, blasts ex-Red

Former Liverpool striker Don Hutchinson believes Raheem Sterling is being misled by a greedy agent

Don Hutchinson has described Raheem Sterling’s agent as the worst in football amid reports Manchester United want the Liverpool forward.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the England international missed training for the second consecutive day after he phoned in sick from his home in Southport.

The Red Devils are thought to be weighing up a £30m offer for Sterling, who has also been linked with their bitter rivals Manchester City this summer.

Former Reds striker Hutchinson accused Sterling’s agent of being too greedy and misleading his 20-year-old client.

Hutchinson was challenged by a number of Twitter users after he demanded Sterling hand in a transfer request, and the retired footballer went on to clarify his comments.

Sterling, who has also been linked with Chelsea, scored seven goals and made seven assists in 35 Premier League appearances this season.

The England forward moved to Liverpool from Queens Park Rangers in 2010 under the management of Rafael Benitez.

Liverpool have already signed six players in the summer transfer window, including the £29m arrival of Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim.
