Man United have completed best transfers, says Arsenal legend
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown runs the rule over Manchester United's summer signings
Manchester United have completed the best business of the summer transfer window so far, according to Martin Keown.
Louis van Gaal started his summer spending spree by signing compatriot Memphis Depay in a £25m deal from PSV Eindhoven.
I think what they need now is a centre forward. But we could see many teams going in for a striker at the end of the transfer window

The Red Devils snapped up Bayern Munich legend Bastian Schnweinsteiger in a £15m deal, Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin for a princely £25m and Matteo Darmian from Torino in a £12.5m transfer.
Van Gaal also signed Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero on a free transfer this week.
And former Arsenal defender Keown reckons the 20-time English champions have secured the best business this summer, although the retired England centre-half reckons Van Gaal still needs a centre-forward.
“It’s so difficult to tell until we’re a fair way into the season, but at the moment I’d have to say Manchester United. They’ve bought a lot of big names, but look how Angel di Maria turned out last season,” Keown is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
“I think Morgan Schneiderlin is a really good signing. He’s good in and out of possession, and he understands the Premier League. He also played well when Southampton won at Old Trafford last season.
“There were times last season when United struggled to control games, and this was largely down to their midfield. They missed Michael Carrick when he was injured, but now they’ll have him back along with Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger. I think what they need now is a centre forward. But we could see many teams going in for a striker at the end of the transfer window.”
Van Gaal guided United back into the Champions League after the Red Devils finished in fourth place following their first season under the Dutchman.
