Man United legend impressed with Memphis Depay and Andreas Pereira

Manchester United legend Andy Cole runs the rule over Red Devils's 3-1 victory over San Jose Earthquakes

Andy Cole says he was impressed with Memphis Depay’s performance in Manchester United’s 3-1 win against San Jose Earthquakes on Tuesday night.

The Netherlands winger scored his first goal for the Red Devils following his £25m move from Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven earlier this summer.

Depay netted United’s second after Juan Mata had made the breakthrough in San Jose before Brazilian Andreas Pereira headed a third for the Red Devils against the Major League Soccer outfit.

And Cole, who was part of United’s Treble-winning side in 1999, took to Twitter after he caught up on the highlights to praise Depay and Pereira.

Depay scored 22 goals in 28 appearances in the Dutch top-flight last season as he helped to fire PSV to the Eredivisie crown last season.

The Dutch winger is just one of four summer signings to make the move to Old Trafford after Louis van Gaal completed deals for Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian and Morgan Schneiderlin.
