Man United signing hopes to learn from Michael Carrick
Manchester United signing Morgan Schneiderlin is hoping to learn from England midfielder Michael Carrick
Morgan Schneiderlin says he will learn and improve from Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.
The France international signed a long-term deal with the Red Devils after United agreed a £25m deal with Southampton for the highly-rated midfielder’s signature.
Training week in and week out with these players helps you learn and improve your game
Schneiderlin established a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most-promising midfielders during the past three seasons in the English top-flight following the Saints’s promotion.
And the 26-year-old is hoping to study and learn from established United midfielder Carrick over the course of the Premier League campaign.
“Of course it [playing with the duo] will help my game,” Schneiderlin told United’s website.
“I am not the finished product; I am just 25, which is the middle age for a professional footballer.
“Training week in and week out with these players helps you learn and improve your game. I’m ready for it.”
Schneiderlin joined Southampton from French side Starsbourg in 2008 and the midfielder helped the south coast club climb the leagues and achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2012.
The Frenchman is one of four summer signings at Old Trafford after manager Louis van Gaal snapped up Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian and Memphis Depay in deals totaling almost £80m.
The Red Devils start their Premier League campaign with a home tie against Tottenham Hotspur.
