Man United transfers: Bayern deliver Bastian Schweinsteiger update
Bastian Schweinsteiger has been tempted by a transfer to England, according to Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge
Bastian Schweinsteiger is flattered by the speculation linking the German midfielder with a transfer to the Premier League this summer, Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a big-money swoop for the World Cup winner in recent days as Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his midfield options ahead of his second season in charge at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have been linked with a swoop for the midfielder, who was in the UK last week to watch his girlfriend Ana Ivanovic compete at Wimbledon.
Now, Bayern Munich chief executive Rummenigge has admitted that the player appears to have been tempted into a possible move away from the Bundesliga club, because he is interested in a transfer to the Premier League.
Rummenigge is quoted as saying by Goal: “I make no secret about it that, in our conversations, it sounds like he is flattered from the interest in England.
“I talked to him during his vacation. We will meet each other, when he is back.
“Our plans are not finished yet. The window is open until August 31.”
The Germany midfielder has scored 67 goals in 500 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga champions.
