Man United transfers: Edinson Cavani gives update on PSG future
Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani is happy in the French capital despite reported interest from Manchester United
Edinson Cavani says he is happy at Paris Saint-Germain despite reported interest from Manchester United.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been linked with a move to the 18-time English champions after a mixed campaign in the French capital.
I have a contract with PSG that I have to respect. I feel very good at Paris, where I’m happy, and I have always said that
Uruguay international Cavani still scored a respectable 18 goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances for Laurent Blanc’s side last season.
And the 28-year-old is relaxed about his PSG future, insisting the Ligue 1 holders are aware of his intentions beyond the summer transfer window.
“Listen, lots of things were said last season, and I think that could have been avoided,” Cavani is quoted as saying by ESPN.
“What I can say today is that the club knows very well what my objectives are and what my way of thinking is. That’s the most important thing.
“I have a contract with PSG that I have to respect. I feel very good at Paris, where I’m happy, and I have always said that. I have just spoken to the club about certain details that I don’t want to talk about.”
Only Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored more goals than United target Cavani for the Parisian-based outfit.
However, the 28-year-old striker is reportedly unhappy to be behind the towering Swede in the pecking order at Parc des Princes.
Cavani has scored 34 goals in 65 Premier League appearances since his move to PSG from Napoli.
