Man United transfers: Ex-France coach advises Morgan Schneiderlin over future
Former France manager Raymond Domenech reckons Manchester United would be a good stepping stone for Morgan Schneiderlin
Morgan Schneiderlin should move to Manchester United before a switch to one of the big-three clubs, according to former France manager Raymond Domenech.
The Southampton midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to one of the Premier League’s top-four clubs as well as Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks.
Schneiderlin has made no secret of his desire to finally make the step up to a club playing in the Champions League after seven years at St Mary’s.
And former France boss Domenech suggested that Louis van Gaal’s United could be a good stepping stone for the 25-year-old midfielder before an even bigger move.
“For him, [United] is a good move,” Domenech is quoted as saying by London Evening Standard.
“If he wants to be with the French national team, then he has to be in this Champions League – but if he stays at Southampton, no luck.”
The Southampton star has scored 15 goals in 260 games in all competitions for the south-coast club over the past seven seasons.
Last month, speculation linking the midfielder with a transfer to United gathered pace when the club’s photographer followed the midfielder on Twitter.
Schneiderlin has also been linked with a switch to Arsenal and Tottenham.
