Man United transfers: Louis van Gaal delivers Javier Hernandez update
Louis van Gaal suggests that Javier Hernandez could have a future at Manchester United beyond the summer
Louis van Gaal has suggested that Javier Hernandez could have a future at Manchester United next season following his loan spell at Real Madrid.
The Mexico forward is due to return to the Old Trafford club after spending Van Gaal’s first campaign in charge of the Red Devils at Madrid after making just two competitive appearances under the Dutchman.
Hernandez recently declared his desire to return to United and fight for a first-team place under Van Gaal.
And Van Gaal told a news conference on Wednesday: “When you play a system with two strikers or one striker then you [have to] make decisions and I let Chicharito go, but now he is coming back.”
Hernandez scored eight goals in 31 appearances for Los Blancos during his temporary spell in Spain.
United secured a top-four finish in Van Gaal’s first season in charge at Old Trafford and are now set to play a Champions League play-off to book their place in the group stage of Europe’s elite club competition.
The Red Devils have already signed Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin during the summer transfer window.
